You Made it Happen on February 7, 2017!
Thanks to the over 200 people who came out on a frigid February night to support the Helena Regional Sports Association in our efforts to bring a tournament-quality indoor sports facility to Helena. Lewis & Clark Brewing Co. selected HRSA to receive $1.00 for every beer sold between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on February 7, 2017, raising over $200 during that time. HRSA representatives collected community input about the three sports facility options currently being considered, and found overwhelming support for the option that includes indoor turf facilities in addition to aquatics and gymnasium space. Thanks to our generous community, over $2,000 was raised in support of our efforts that night!
Sullivan Financial Group generously offered HRSA a $1,000 community matching challenge for every donation received by HRSA on February 7, 2017 during Lewis & Clark Brewing’s “Ales for Charity” night. With the help of Helena-area sports enthusiasts, we doubled that amount on Ales for Charity night ! Thanks to everyone who helped us to achieve our $2,000 goal.
The City of Helena Parks & Recreation Department has generously contributed $5,000 to HRSA to support the completion of a feasibility study to determine what indoor sports facilities the Helena Region desires and can afford. HRSA deeply appreciates the City’s support!
HTA would like to see this facility place Helena, for the first time in years, in a position to host indoor events.
“After sharing the news of this potential facility with the Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Directors it is fair to say the group is absolutely thrilled.”, says Heidi O’Brien, Executive Director of HTA.
The Helena Regional Sports Association was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Montana Department of Commerce, Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund. The grant will be used to complete a feasibility study detailing the type of sports facility that the Helena region can afford to build and maintain.
The Helena Ridley Masters Swimmers have contributed $1,100 to the Helena Regional Sports Association. This founding donation allows HRSA to begin the process of bringing the Helena community together to build a tournament-quality sports facility. Thank you, Ridley Masters!
